DAY ONE: OVERNIGHT JOHANNESBURG
Your Botswana safari will offer you loads of luxury, all the while maintaining the true essence of the breathtaking African bush. This is of course the way safaris are supposed to be experienced. Botswana Under Canvas is a ten night journey, and one that is custom-designed to explore Botswana's most amazing regions in true African style. Our tented accommodations throughout Botswana will provide the discerning traveller with the true essence of Africa in every imaginable detail. You will arrive in Johannesburg and then overnight at the InterContinental Airport Sun where you can start your incredible adventure.
DAY TWO TO FIVE: OKAVANGO DELTA

DAY FIVE TO EIGHT: MOREMI
It is time to explore the wonderful Moremi Game Reserve, and indulge in three nights of pure luxury in the tented Okuti Camp – this is one of the most famous camping safaris in Africa. It is a five-star camp that was totally rebuilt in 2007, and is very luxurious indeed. It is situated on the massive Moremi Game Reserve (measured in miles, not acres). This safari in Botswana is considered by many to have one of the finest game viewing options in the entire world, with a massive concentration of elephant herds.
DAY EIGHT TO ELEVEN: MAKGADIKGADI PANS

DAY ONE TO FIVE: CAPE TOWN
The Kruger National Park package starts with your arrival at Cape Town International Airport; this is where you will be met by an African Signature agent, they will supply you with your rental car details this includes an inclusive self-drive documentation package. You will then drive to the hotel of your choice; this is where you will relax for the next four nights. Without a doubt, Cape Town is one of the top cities in the world - with Table Mountain as the centrepiece; it is encircled by the azure waters of the Atlantic Ocean and lined with white sandy beaches. Outside of its outdoor surprises, Cape Town pulls in visitors with a large choice of first-rate restaurants, stunning nightclubs and shopping malls that include the V&A Waterfront.
Enjoy five days in Cape Town with your own rental car to get around, where you will be able to visit the Cape Winelands among other attractions. The Winelands are set amidst the magnificence of the mountains; these include the valleys of Franschhoek, Stellenbosch and Paarl. Your senses will be overwhelmed by 360° views of grassy fields, fine wines and cuisine. Sip some of the world’s premium wines and learn about the complex processes that are used to produce them.
On day five, your rental car will be returned to the Cape Town International airport in order to catch your flight to the famous Kruger National Park.
DAY FIVE TO EIGHT: KRUGER NATIONAL PARK
Enjoy the cream of the crop when it comes to nature reserves in South Africa. Our Kruger National Park package will place you in the very middle of Big Five territory, this is where a safari ranger will wait for you in order to transfer you towards a luxury lodge near the centre of the Kruger National Park based on your personal preference and budget, and your committed consultant will supply you with luxury safari lodge options.
The Kruger surely contains an abundance of wildlife. For a typical day on safari, it will begin with a delicious, steaming hot cup of coffee as well as a light snack, all before venturing out into the bush in order to experience the delights of mysterious Africa. Our expert staff will keep you safe from the wildest of animals and point out various game and bird species.
At the end of the morning game drive, it is then back to the lodge where a delicious breakfast awaits you. Preceding this, you may enjoy any of the other activities that the lodge has to offer. Madikwe Reserve is famous for being one of the very best game reserves in South Africa. The Madikwe Lodge is the ultimate in luxury destinations, and is less than a one hour flight from Johannesburg. If you are on a strict business schedule, then this will become an excellent trip option for you.
DAY ONE TO THREE
Upon arrival at Johannesburg International Airport, you will be directed to a scheduled charter plane that will fly you safely to the Madikwe Airstrip – all you need do is sit back and sip on your welcome beverage. You will be there in under an hour and once you arrive at the luxurious safari lodge of your choosing, you will be presented with a fantastic lunch. The first game drive of your trip will follow shortly afterwards. Between your spa treatments, games drives and stunning bush walks, you will enjoy a delicious light lunch. This is how a typical day would work: Your safari will begin with a peaceful snack; this is before you head deep into the bush in order to experience the magic of Africa. You will have skilled rangers with open 4x4 vehicles that will keep Africa’s wild beasts far away from you.
The morning game drive ends with a trip back to the luxury safari lodge, and a delicious breakfast will be waiting for you. You can have the rest of the day to yourself, relaxing and catching up on whatever you desire. In the late afternoon, another game drive is imminent, and you will get to see another very different set of wild animals. Your drive will end during the early stage of the evening, and there is always the chance of discovering the more elusive night time creatures. Enjoy a sundowner drink in the open bush; this will be a memory that will be revisited for many years to come as you share your exciting stories of the Madikwe Game Lodge.
DAY FOUR
When your morning game drive and delicious breakfast is at an end, you will be transferred back to the airstrip for a speedy flight that takes you back to Johannesburg, this will end your once-in-a-lifetime experience at the Madikwe Lodge. DAY ONE TO THREE: LUANGWA RIVER
You will take part in a total view of the entire safari based in the Luangwa National Park; and we will assist you as you participate in an exciting, land-based Zambian safari. You will arrive at the seasonal Kakuli Bush Camp in its stunning spot at the conjecture of the Luwi and Luangwa Rivers. You will be able to experience two full days of game drives, as well as nature walks in this wonderfully natural park.
DAY THREE TO FIVE: AMAZING ZAMBIA
On the third day of arrival, you will rise early in order to take a relaxing hike to the next camp, all the while experiencing the majestic wonders of trekking in the stunning Zambian wilderness. Mchenja is your destination, and it is where your new lodge is located. To your pleasant surprise, you will discover that we have already placed your bags at the lodge for you.
DAY FIVE TO EIGHT: LOWER ZAMBEZI
After two nights, you will continue your journey by air, making your way to the Lower Zambezi National Park, where the luxury of the Sausage Tree Camp waits for you. Take time exploring the Zambezi River, enjoy a spot of angling for game fish, or why not drift out in a peaceful canoe safari.
DAY EIGHT TO TEN: VICTORIA FALLS
At the end of your journey, the powerful and imposing Victoria Falls awaits. DAY 1 - 5: CAPE TOWN
Upon your arrival at Cape Town International airport, you will be met by an African Signature representative, whom will provide you with your rental car details and a comprehensive self-drive documentation pack. Cape Town is one of the world’s most beautiful cities and yours to explore for the next 4 days. Dominated by Table Mountain it is surrounded by the blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean and ringed with fine white sandy beaches. Apart from its outdoor charms Cape Town entices visitors enjoy its wide variety of excellent restaurants, nightclubs and shopping malls such as the V&A Waterfront - a working harbour filled with a wonderful mix of shops, restaurants and exciting activities for all ages.
We then recommend you spend at least one day visiting the magnificent winelands just a short distance outside of Cape Town. Here you will be able to sample some of the world’s finest wines and learn about the intricate processes used to produce them. Leave room in your suitcase to take home some superb wines at staggeringly low prices. The wine farms are situated in the beautiful mountainous areas of Stellenbosch and Franschhoek -historically important towns in South Africa - and the streets still capture the beauty and tranquillity of the old Cape Dutch farming lifestyle.
DAY 5 - 6: HERMANUS
Situated only one hour’s drive from Cape Town, is the coastal town of Hermanus, this section of the coast is famous for its high concentration of whales, pleasant swimming, beaches and nature walks.
The peak of the whale watching season is in September, although the season stretches from July to November. While Hermanus is known to be the whale watching capital of the world, Gaansbaai (less than 20 kms away) is the premier shark cage diving area. Day tours can be arranged, but this one is not for the faint of heart.
DAY 6 - 9: THE GARDEN ROUTE
From Hermanus, you will drive approximately 4 hours to Knysna along the world famous Garden Route. Knysna is situated in an area of dense forests, unique flora, wide bays, rocky sea cliffs and numerous rivers all set against a dramatic mountain backdrop. The town itself is a postcard perfect, vibrant seaside village. Fresh oysters and champagne make for lazy days at the picturesque waterfront and the lagoon can be explored via water taxi’s and sunset cruises.
Take a trip to Featherbed bay where, on the opposite side of the lagoon, right near the Knysna heads, you can either go for a guided hike or race around on quad-bikes. Knsyna is also a popular shopping destination with many arts and crafts on sale. There are a host of different beaches nearby with some excellent scuba diving, surfing, whale and dolphin watching tours.
Near to the town are many peaceful walks in the indigenous forest where you will be enveloped in an ancient silence. Yellowwoods, Ironwoods and Stinkwood trees dwarf the visitor. Be sure to pay a visit to the ‘Garden of Eden’ - an aptly named area of the forest - before you leave for your safari.
DAY 9 - 12: BIG 5 SAFARI
3 Hours drive up the coast you will come face to face with the Big Five in one of South Africa’s malaria free Eastern Cape game reserves.
Your typical day on safari starts with an early morning game drive where experienced rangers in open 4x4 safari vehicles will soon have you within an arms length of Africa’s wildlife.
Afterwards it’s back to the lodge where a sumptuous breakfast awaits you and then the day is yours until lunch and the late afternoon game drive with another chance to see some of the more nocturnal animals. Sundowners in the open bush will be remembered for years to come and back at the lodge for dinner exciting tales of the days adventures are shared over a glass of fine South African wine and excellent meals. Once your stay is over you will drive to Port Elizabeth airport for your flight back to Cape Town and the end of your Cape Signature tour.
